I meant to post on Friday but wasn't feeling well. However! My girls (well, a Lishe and a Soo Dark Human head) arrived early. They were due to arrive today but showed up on Friday instead. Of course, the first thing I did (after taking a few photos) was take the Lishe head off of the body since I plan on using it (the body) for the Soo Dark Human one. So for now, the body is laying headless in the box with the head, awaiting my further command decision-making? I busted out my pastels and acrylics and went to town on the Lishe, though. I think it turned out super-spiffy for my first attempt...though I need to get some smaller brushes. Eyelashes are a pita to work with...they kept sticking to my fingers...lol. I got the feathering down on the brows and lower lashes, though, and I think that while I will definitely do it over again, it doesn't look bad...sadly it looks better than some I've seen by people who charged for them. :O Wow. Enough rambling. I'll try to get some pics uploaded this week if anyone wants to see them. ^^;;;

I think that covers the basics for when the body gets here...though I'm seriously lacking in the shoes & clothing departments. I know I have the pink canvas boots Dorian wore for that one photoshoot and a pair of black mary janes from Tallina's (which is now called something else but I can't recall what). NEED STOMPY BLACK BOOTS! XD Clothing-wise there's... black PVC pants from batchix on DoA (though they were made for Dorian/Luts boy...lol), Volks skirt from Nadja on DoA, red/white ragland t-shirt from purplewiz on DoA, pointy-ear tasseled hat from Nako on DoA, black tights, white tights, black socks, the sleeveless white shirt from Luts and baggy gray pants that I made for Dorian. I think that's all.
Ok...so let's see...wigs I already have:
from PoshDolls: long, white ringlet one that Dorian wore in the angel photoshoot; insanely long red-to-orange flame gradient one; and the shoulder-length black-to-wine one that has always been intended as Duvessa's default (which is why I just ordered the same thing from DollHeart but longer).
from Tallina's: long, black straight one; super-short blonde pixie one; chin-length bob with slight curl in medium brown.
from Kiriko Moth on DoA: the blonde dready/fur one
I know I still have the green acrylic & green-gray glass eyes I was saving for Duvessa in case I don't like the ones she comes with. And accessory-wise there's the leopard-print kitty ear headband, Victorian teaset, white lace parasol, plain parasol, two pairs of reading glasses, 2 pairs of sunglasses, white lace fan, & blue kitty ears from DutchGirl on DoA. I need to commission more DoA members...I prefer it to ordering elsewhere.
WHEW! And now to bed I go.

I don't think I've posted since I sold Dorian (my Chiwoo) this past summer (though that's only one of the reasons why...I'm also going through a divorce and stuff).
Anyways, as some of you know, I've been saving for awhile for a DES, though I was never that big on the elf ears (cute but not an "everyday thing"?)...anyways...so I went to order the Soo-Dark Human...but I also wanted to get a Lishe head to practice face-ups on since she tied with the DES as my choice for first girl doll...anyways, you can get a Soo-Dark Human head but not a Lishe head...so I just ordered a full Lishe and a Soo-Dark head. Whew! I got both in white skin and with no make-up since I want them very customized. They also already have names (though the Lishe will be without body for a few months...lol). The Soo-Dark Human will be/is Duvessa Malvina (Irish for sweet dark beauty) and the Lishe is ZeDene Eletha (family name). Yay! *^^*
Oh, and I ordered this wig, too ^^;;

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have to sell Dorian Alexander, my Chiwoo.
That said, he has beauty white skin with face-up done by Luts and a pair of 18mm light blue glass eyes from Tallina's. Also included is the dark brown wig I bought for him from Luts. He will be shipped in the "standard" method, in the light blue boys CP box between the two satinesque pillows inside of the other Luts shipping box. eLuts sells Chiwoo with face-up for $550 and the wig for $30, both plus s&h. Tallina's charges $25 plus s&h for the eyes. I'm asking $675 which includes:

Now that the semester is over and I have a good bit of free time, I'm going to make a few SD-sized soft matresses with matching pillows/covers and wooden bed frames (eventually metal ones, too but I need larger fuel tanks for my welding setup). They'll be on par with the simple ones that Iple House makes and after I do Dorian's four-poster one, I might offer those, too.
Any suggestions/requested color or fabric choices and how much do you think I should charge for these? I was thinking around $50-60 depending on the fabric

Just a quick post to let everyone know that lightning came in on our cable mdoem Friday evening and fried it so I can't get online until we get a new one (which should be Mon. or Tues. since we rent ours from the cable co.- I'm at the library right now)...so if you emailed me or anything, that's why I haven't responded.

I noticed Dorian watching me the other day when I was using Photoshop and he kept asking me questions. Well, he has an inquisitive nature so I didn't think anything of it...until today. I was making oatmeal cookies and went to check on him to make sure Andy wasn't bothering him...here's what I found...O.o

Okies...so the more I think about it, the more I really want Duvessa to be a DES. I mean, she's Irish and the whole elf-faerie thing of DES works, plus she's a little snobby looking...which is perfect. Besides, I don't want my Lishe to be as erm, mean as Duvessa will be (personality-wise). ^^;; I've also decided, especially after seeing this:

to just go with a DD body for her since she's largely going to be used for face-ups and will be mostly just wrapped in whatever fabric scraps are laying around. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying she's going to be my "sucky doll", I just want my Lishe to be more...refined, personality-wise...like the oldest sister to my group. If that makes any sense...

Dorian: Kat finished my first pair of pants the other day and I must admit, I am quite thrilled to be out of the skirts! Well, perhaps I wouldn't mind being in them in a different manner but that's besides the point *winks and chuckles softly while blushing a bit* She's spent this afternoon making some rather delectable looking tarts and cakes and various pastries out of something called Sculpey and is painting them right now. So scrumptious looking...I hope Andy doesn't try to eat any. ^^;;; My little apartment is slowly taking form and I look forward to having a room and a real bed to sleep in as opposed to my blue box. I'm told that Duvessa will be joining us sometime next month if all goes according to plan and Kat has said she will work on her apartment after she finishes mine. I've heard so much about Vessa that I'm both thrilled to meet her and yet slightly terrified at the same time. Kat's warned me a bit about her so I might keep my distance at first...I just do not know yet. I do know that she prefers girls to boys so I'm not going to allow myself to entertain any thoughts to the contrary (though I hear she likes to lounge about nude so it might prove difficult). ^^;;;;;;;;;;;; Ah well, back to my book and peach passion tea...
Me: Apartment for each of them translates to their own bedrooms and perhaps sitting rooms

As I mentioned, I finally got Dorian's head open and switched out the default black Luts eyes for these new cheap green ones. Am definitely going to have to buy a nicer pair of green for him...it's totally HIS color. And as you can see in some of the blonde pics, I finally broke down and hand-stitched him a pair of pants and caught him playing with Henri, his hippo beanie (lol). The brown wig is from Luts and was one I ordered with him, the blonde is from DoA member Kiriko Moth. (some of these x-posted to DoA)

Am on my way to bed but wanted to post. My order came in from Tallina's today so after much wrangling, I was able to change Dorian's eyes out from his default black glass Luts ones to the new green acrylic ones. The difference is amazing. I actually did a double take. It's almost like he's another doll. The green brings the peach on his lips and around his eyes waaaay out and he looks more...real? They fit his shy yet inquisitive personality better, that's for sure. I put his default Luts dark brown wig on and set up a quick photoshoot and then couldn't find the camera >< So no pics yet. I also took advantage of being bed-confined to make him a pair of pants. I hadn't before because the sewing machine needs a tune up. So I did it all by hand :O The pattern I used was a little large but they work and he's happy not to have to wear a skirt now. I used a light gray jersey-type(?) fabric so they have a little weight to them that prevents wrinkling. I just did an elastic waist. The legs are currently just hemmed and somewhat wide-legged like pants from the 40's but if I elasticize them, they'll look like wonky sweatpants ^^;;

So I have my sweet little Chiwoo (Dorian) and am ordering a Lishe (Duvessa) next month. After these two, I would eventually like another adult female doll and then both a MSD girl and MSD boy. So I've been searching around and comparing one to another and think I'm finally set on what I want. The first BJD doll I ever fell "in love with" was the old SD Megu by Volks. I can't remember how long ago that was but at the time, Aimee only had her SD Nana, Alita, and was about to get her U-Noa. So maybe sometime in '03, I guess? Anyways, I almost had a Megu prior to my Chiwoo but things fell through on the deal and it didn't happen. Upon looking at the SD13's, I real like the Megu & Nana ones but have been unsure about which I like the most. Well, upon deciding that my male MSD will be a Blue Fairy Jerome, I no longer feel like I HAVE to stick with Luts for my little girl...and I think the MSD Sakura (also by Volks) would be a sweet little sister to the SD13 Megu since they favor a bit, looks-wise. I believe I'll order them sans make-up so that I can give them similar face-ups to further the 'sister thing' whenever I save up the money for them (would like to order them at the same time). I've already picked names for all of them, as well. The SD13 Megu will be named Zedene and the MSD Sakura will be Remie (short for Remel). The former was my great-aunt's name and the latter was my paternal grandmother's (they were sisters and brought up my dad and his 2 brothers after my grandfather died when my dad was 2). The BF Jerome will probably be named Julian or something equally effeminate. While he will be posed often with the little Sakura, he's to serve as a companion/little brother for Dorian, too. And regarding names, Dorian comes from Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray and Duvessa is Irish for 'dark beauty' & was my first online name. Whew...when I said rambling, I wasn't lying! ^^;;; New icon from yesterday's photos.

Happy day for me with the mail. Dorian's new default wig arrived from DoA member Kiriko Moth. It's gold and cream faux fur and I loooove it on him. Can't wait for the green eyes I ordered to get here, too. He's also wearing an adorable new fleece hat made by DoA member Nako. TY ladies for these rad items! x-posted to DoA

I've decided after having Dorian in the short blonde wig and the curly white one that I like him better with light-coloured hair than dark...so when it gets here, the White Gold faux fur wig (has gradation from a pale creamy gold to white at the tips) that I bought from Kiriko Moth will be his default one. I'm so in love with it & can't wait to see it on him. I'm in this weird 'dreadlocks' phase (gave my Gaia avie dreads for ahile, too). ^^;; This is what it looks like (on KM's doll?):
